Boston needs a birth center...
Boston deserves a freestanding birthing center: a safe, community-rooted place where people can give birth with dignity, care, and choice. With your support, we’re building that center — and offering an inspiring alternative to hospital birth.
Why This Matters
- A community birth center — home-like, midwife-led, and rooted in care — leads to healthier births: fewer cesareans, fewer pre-term and low-weight babies, more successful VBACs, and stronger breast-/chestfeeding rates.
- Along with better physical outcomes, a community birth center offers equity, respect, and power for communities often ignored by our health system.
- With only one other birth center in all of Massachusetts, Boston remains underserved. Our center will make midwifery care accessible, insurance-covered, and rooted in reproductive justice.
